Introduction to Kleio and Kallie
Welcome to our blog dedicated to our two delightful canine companions, Kleio and Kallie, affectionately known as @amusingmutts. They are named after Kleio and Calliope, the Greek Muses of History and Poetry, respectively.
Kleio was rescued at 10 months old in March 2021 by Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. She came to the DC area from Puerto Rico. We learned quickly that Kleio knew Spanish, and worked to build up her English vocabulary. She is a certified Canine Good Citizen, and loved running FastCAT races in the US.
Kallie joined the family in September 2024. She showed up with her Bulgarian passport after KMC Adopt Don’t Shop facilitated her transport to Germany. She is the neighborhood watch and will gladly tell you every time someone walks past. She is a super cuddler, and prefers to sleep like a dead bug with her feet in the air.
In this space, we will share their adventures, favorite products, travel spots, and essential tips that we’ve learned along the way.

Traveling with furry companions requires some planning even though we live in Europe, a very dog friendly place. We will share some of our favorite travel spots that welcome dogs, ensuring that your trips with your pets are as enjoyable as possible. Whether it’s dog-friendly beaches, hiking trails, or cozy accommodations, our adventures with Kleio and Kallie will guide you on the best places to explore. We’ll also highlight how we moved from the US to Europe and made Kleio comfortable on the journey.

Kleio and Kallie (and their humans) have quite the taste when it comes to their favorite products.
